Vacation needed...

I need a looooong vacation. One of my workmates came from her vacation back and we're just looking at her with jealous right now and she smirks at us back. Hehehe.

I have 12 days left for my annual leave, which is 1 week as I'm only here for 7 months. My hopes for a seaside vacation has already been destroyed but maybe we will go to Pamukkale for 2 days when we visit İlker's family. Then, I'll start my torture, writing my thesis. Reading phdcomics is a great way for procrastination. :P

By the way, a friend of mine just turned her thesis in on Friday. Wow... He's the first one turning in thesis among us. I hope I can complete my thesis in time. There's only a few months left. *sigh*

American cuisine

I found an article online called The Top 10 Foods Only America Could Have Invented

I guess it's not surprising that many Americans have some weight problems. I'm especially surprised about salad...

Homesickness

I just read an article on my university, ODTÜ (Middle East Technical University, and saw some photos of it.

I feel quite homesick right now. I miss my university, my life in university. It was my real home. :(

A web site and free softwares

Ok guys, are you ready for a webpage which gives you different full softwares each day? And it's totally legal? Hehehe.

I love this website and I thought it would be too selfish not to share it with you. It's originally in Turkish but from the language box, you can choose different languages. The only thing you must beware is that downloads are only free and available on the day it's submitted by the website (24 hours long).

Today they have a software (Liquid Story Binder XE 2.91) which helps you organize your work while writing a book, series or even your thesis. I loved the rpgoram but since I don't write any books, I will not use it. *sigh* But I know some of you write books or articles etc and believe me, you'll also love this software. :D

Check the site here.

coffee

I'm not a coffee person. Actually I only drink cold iced coffee on summer time with different flavours like bananas or strawberries. Anyway, for the last 2 days, I had a lot of difficulty in sleeping at night. Normally, I can sleep at 10 pm on weekdays as I'm mostly exhausted from the work and the travel I make between work and home (it takes 1,5 hours each). It was very unusual for me not being able to sleep even when its 23:30.

Now that I read lots of coffee jokes today, I realised that on both night I drank cold banana flavoured iced coffee. I guess I'm quite intolerant for caffeine. ^^

Life... *sigh*

After a lot of thinking, I realized that my life is a chaos recently. It's really interesting how I haven't noticed the craziness in my life. I could only tought about it after [info]gyen_gaoltosing's comment to one of my entries and my boyfriend complaining that I've been so tired and busy for a while that I deserve some sleep at least. Then I asked about what my other friends thought about my life recently and it seems that I'm the idiot of the group for not even realizing how terrible my life has been.

I saw a dream last night. I quited work in my dream and pretty cool about it. I think that much thinking about life makes you this.It was weird coming to work after that dream this morning. :P I wonder how can I put my life on a decent line. Can't wait for October...

I feel much better than last few weeks. I guess hanging out with family is a nice thing for a change. :D

Today the sales people rushed in to our office. *sigh* They're going to work in our office now and I can't work when they speak on the phone (which they always do naturally). :( I just try to think about the month lying ahaed and the 9 days following all free. ^^ I bought my ticket to Ankara today. I miss Ilker, and there's only 4 days left before I can be with him.

One of my university best friends will be married in 2 weeks or so. She's moving to USA for Phd. Her future husband is also doing his Phd there. I'm happy for her but I wonder what will happen as she's going to get married secretly. It's a long story... Anyway, I'll also meet her on Saturday and go shopping for her wedding gown. Ilker will join us lately and figuratively carry me home. :P I miss my life in Ankara...

I keep forgetting what I was going to do 5 second after I plan. :P Does this happen to you? Work is extremely busy lately despite the summer, in which we have very little thing to do.

Torture: My co-worker, who sits right next to me, keeps humming and singing stupid songs. Aghhhhhhhhhhh!!!

By the way, I may not e able to go on holiday this summer since Ilker has some serious business stuff to do and I have to see my adviser before August 18. :( We plan to go to Italy in October though, that might be a compensation...

Help me?

I promise to respond to comments and my flist but I need help urgently. My boyfriend is leaving on Sunday for Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Unfortunately I didn't have any time to help him do research on the city. Does anyone knows what is famous about there? I mean local gifts, places to see, things to eat? (he doesn't use alcohol and prefers Muslim way cutted food, so I guess vegetables and fish is proper for him)

Can someone help me?

Eurovision 2008

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

A tiny thing I forgot to add this morning. I watched the final of Eurovision last night. I missed the voting part but I learned that Russia won it. Not a suprise. It would be miracle for them not to win when they have Eugenie Plushenko skating in the middle. I like Eugenie (although I prefer Alexei Yagudin over him for a million times more but anyway that's not the point), so it was a nice surprise to see him there. I wish the ice area was bigger so we could see him jump and spin more. Turkish song was also good. I'm not a crazy fan of Mor ve Ötesi but I like their music. however, I hate last night's performance. Those two guitarists at the back (sorry I'm terrible with names) were just terrible. What was all that jump and head bang stuff? For a moment I thought I was watching a death metal song (with a baby faced singer), but the volume war muted and I was listening to a normal rock song on the radio. Totally not related... I wish that so called handsome guitarist stopped jumping so high that his knees were practically bumping his chest. I watched their live performance last year in METU (my university) Koç Festival with Vega (a wonderful group), and they were really good. I loved the concert and stayed despite the freezing weather. Last night, was a tragedy at least for me. Ilker couldn't even watched it and literally hide behind his computer... For me, Azerbaijan was the best among them. I loved the evil vs good concept and the voices were really good except for a few seconds one of them's cracked... Pity! And Ukraine. Ok, the girl was fabolous, her voice was not bad. But that was all for me. The song was just above avarage and they became 2nd. Yeah, those people really understand from music. I also loved finland. I love how they rebel against stupid pop songs in Eurovision. Considering the fact that Finland is the country of metal music, it wasn't a surprise to see really good band. Lordi was really good in previous years and they became 1st surprisingly. I remember all the metal-listeners in Turkey organized and voted for them. Ha! :D

These were my two cents for last night. I'm not sorry if you don't agree with me. :)

Just a very quick update... My boss decided that I'll be going Ethiopia and I decided to resign on July. It seem that I'll have to let the doctors do a vaccination of yellow fever. :( I hate vaccination! The worst part is I'm so sick that I can barely stay awake and I can't have the vaccination until I'm ok. And I have to take the vaccination at the latest of 18th of May. :( I have NO idea how can I manage to complete all these things. :(

Ok guys, I need some help. My boyfriend will order some stuff from London from his workmate and he asked me to make a list of stuff that I want from London. Is there any special thing that is unique to London? I'm planning to order some Harry Potter related sweets/chocolates, ornaments or stuff like that. Any suggestions? Help me ASAP if you can please. Deadline is Friday morning.

Hey all! I had a wonderful birthday thank you all for your warm wishes. :D

I was in Ankara with my boyfriend, and spend the entire weekend with him watching movies, hanging out outside under spring sun and well... ehem. :P This weekend was very special to me since it was kind of first time for many things.

By the way, one of my workmates resigned today as he found another job. Since department manager went abroad today, I'm the only responsible person for foreign affairs department, although I'm not exactly in that department. I'm not sure wheter to call it a promotion or a nightmare but I hope things will be fine at least until May, when my manager returns back. *sigh*

I went to Sultanahmet todat with my father to take some photos in the square. I took A LOT, but while we take a break in the Gülhane Park, I took a panaromic photo of Sarayburnu. I just have time to upload it, but it's kind of large and Photobucket resized it so it doesn't give the impression that I want it to give. Does anyone know a way that I can upload it to web with its original size?

But since then, click on the tumbnail:
